MPCA Stormwater and Air Quality Enforcement Actions

Violation of stormwater regulations remained the most common enforcement action for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) based on enforcement summaries released for the fourth quarter of 2008. Over 25% of all enforcement actions over that period were related to stormwater violations. Violation of air quality regulations was the second most common enforcement action.

Stormwater rules will soon become more stringent in Minnesota, based on initial drafts of the upcoming revision to the State Multi-sector General Permit (MSGP) for industrial discharges. [read more about the draft MSGP permit and about proposed stormwater monitoring requirements]
