Minnesota SWPPP Training - Industrial Stormwater Training Requirements

In July 6, 2009, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) released its proposed Multi-sector General Permit (MSGP) for industrial stormwater discharges. This proposed permit requires regulated industrial facilities to provide specific stormwater pollution prevention training to their employees. The training needs to include:

  • Components and goals of the facility SWPPP,
  • Spill response procedures,
  • Good housekeeping practices,
  • Material management practices,
  • Other training elements specific to their industrial sector.

In addition to general training provided to all employees that work in industrial areas, employees who have additional responsibilities to manage the facility’s stormwater permit compliance activities must also be trained, which may include:

- Stormwater Inspection Training
- Stormwater Monitoring Training
- Stormwater BMP Operation & Maintenance Training

Caltha LLP provides a range of cost effective industrial stormwater training options to meet the unique training needs of the largest and smallest operations.
