AHMP-NSC April General Meeting - HazCom 2012 Overview

The North Star Chapter of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP) is announcing its April General Membership Meeting. This month’s meeting will focus on the recently finalized HazCom 2012 – which is the long awaited revising of OSHA’s Hazard Communication rules.

Date: Wednesday April 18, 2012
Time: 3:00 – 4:30 PM
Location: Hennepin County Library – Washburn
Meeting Room (lower level)
5244 Lyndale Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN

Agenda:

Introduction to HazCom 2012
The Hazard Communication Standard has become a key element of many operations’ health & safety program; in addition, the underlying elements of HaxCom have become critical to evaluating and documenting applicability and compliance with a wide range of environmental regulatory programs. This will include a brief discussion of how HazCom 2012 can impact other aspects of the EH&S compliance management.

Overview of New Requirements
The majority of the program will be dedicated to an overview of the HazCom 2012 rule, as it applies to both manufacturers and operations that use hazardous materials subject to the rule. The key changes from the existing hazard communication standard, as well as implementation schedules will be covered.

General Membership Meeting
A brief general membership meeting will follow.

The General Meeting is open to all North Star Chapter members – anyone else can become a member at the North Star Chapter website, or can print out the membership application ( http://ahmp-nsc.org/pdfs/memberap.pdf ) and bring it to the general meeting.
